Wordsworth Editions

One of the largest manufacturers and suppliers of books in the UK, Wordsworth Editions thought it was time to update their web presence.

Wordsworth wanted a change, their site was looking a little tired and its mobile user experience could benefit from some modern techniques. We were commissioned to re-imagine the customer journey across all devices and make suggestions as to where content improvements could be made.

We undertook a full website audit and detailed analysis of the user flow from which we could improve the site's navigational structure and develop the page content, laying out our findings as a wire-frame to help the client to understand the suggested improvements and buy into the vision.

Detailed competitor analysis and client discussion finished the discovery process, allowing us to capture the client's specific style preferences and ensure we hit the brief first time. Simplicity, colour and bold use of imagery were key factors in the design.

The home page was re-imagined with bold calls to action, featured posts and the introduction of 'This Week' birth and death announcements. Elsewhere, author quotes, related posts and a 'google style' book information element has been introduced.

We have been assisting Wordsworth with their digital marketing approach and strategy for over 10 years now.  We are responsible for UX Design, Front End development, database design and development of a bespoke content management application.
